Remember “We are the World?”
For our 5th Anniversary of Independence, we’re producing a special version of our National Anthem sung by passionate citizens from all around the world – each line will be sung by someone from a different country!
Want to be a part of history – part of this song – and be cemented in the Slowjamastani history books forever?
Then sing a line for us! It’s easy and quick…just follow these simple instructions:
1. Verify the line (or lines) that The Sultan has asked from you – see them below in text and in the video of the full anthem.
2. The camera can be in selfie mode or regular mode, but you should be close to the camera so the mic picks you up – we need good, clear audio.
3. Please have the camera in HORIZONTAL/LANDSCAPE mode.
4. You can record it at home – but if there’s somewhere nearby that shows the beauty of your country – even the street or a park – even better, it would make a great background! We’ll get more submissions that we can use – help make yours stand out by filming somewhere awesome if you can. BONUS points if you are dressed in the traditional clothes of your nation, but not required.
5. You do NOT have to be a great singer! The important thing is timing; the line has to be timed correctly – meaning the same speed as the actual song so we can match up your lyrics to the music. You should practice a few times over the actual song, or have the song playing in earbuds. When in doubt, do it a few times – you can send us multiple versions if you’re unsure.
6. IMPORTANT: After singing the line – keep recording for 10 seconds. I know it might look/feel weird, but I may need this time for a transition. So after you sing your line, keep the camera rolling for 10+ seconds please! You can smile, wave or just look awkwardly into the camera. Please trust me.

7. I need to know your name and country! Make sure you send me a DM or an email and let me know you sent the video, so I can match up your name and country with the the file. My email is sultan (at) slowjamastan dot org. Or you can LABEL the file with your country’s name, example: Austria.mov, etc. If I don’t know you’re country, I can’t use the video.
